For over 50 years, "Sesame Street" has been a cherished part of children's media, captivating young audiences and fostering a love for learning.

This year, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, and their friends are set to make their Netflix debut with the all-new, reimagined 56th season, along with 90 hours of previous episodes available to viewers worldwide.

The upcoming season promises exciting format changes and the return of beloved segments like "Elmo’s World" and "Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck." Fans can look forward to new interactive experiences, such as Cookie Monster's very own Cookie Cart and Abby's Fairy Garden, home to enchanting magical creatures.

Episodes will now focus on a single 11-minute story, offering more character-driven humor and heartwarming moments. These new episodes will be available on the same day in the U.S. on PBS stations and PBS KIDS digital platforms, ensuring free access to critical early learning for children nationwide.

The news comes after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to stop funding PBS and NPR.

Sesame Workshop, the global nonprofit behind "Sesame Street," announced that Sal Perez and Kay Wilson Stallings will serve as executive producers, with Halcyon Person joining as head writer.
