'Smurfs’ cast dishes the best pizza and what would they bring to a summer cookout

At the Los Angeles, ‘Smurfs’ premiere, the cast raved over their hometowns, their favorite places and their must-see’s whenever they go back home.

In fact, the ‘Smurf’ cast dished out where they think the best pizza is, how to make the best eggplant parmesan and what they would bring to a ‘Smurf’ themed BBQ.

JP Karliak who voices Razamel is from Scranton, Pennsylvania and says Pierogi’s are his favorite food from back home. “Pierogi’s are mt favorite food. I’m going home next weekend and a dish of potato and cheese pierogi’s are like my favorite things [] just like fry ‘em up as a little popper as a snack, so good.” But when he returns home, he knows where his first stop always has to be, “Carrow and Jannel’s pizza in Old Forge, because old forge pizza is the best pizza. Fight me!”

Voicing Azrael and the List Maker Smurf, Rachel Butera insists on bringing her homemade eggplant parmesan to the ‘Smurfs’ BBQ, “I’m form New Jersey so I’m bringing eggplant parmesan. I don’t know if the Smurfs can eat eggplant parmesan but when they taste mine, I think they’re gonna be big fans of it. It’s just the way my mother used to make it so delicious. Just with love. I love to cook and bake and so I think they would really like it.”

If you’re down at the Jersey Shore, make sure to stop at some of Rachel’s favorite places, “Belmar, Wildwood, Asbury Park, Cape May, all the shore towns it’s the best. Especially in the summer down the shore, the Jersey Shore, there’s nothing like it.”

Spencer X is the Sound Effects Smurf, but he definitely knows a thing or two about pizza growing up in New York, “I would love to bring some pizza, absolutely. I gotta stick with a pepperoni slice. I love pepperoni. Deep dish is definitely Chicago, but you know I like a New York thin slice. Can’t have too much flop 1/10. 1 bite. You all know the rules.”

Hugo Miller who plays Clumsy Smurf figured out a foolproof way to get his food to the ‘Smurf’ cookout, “As Clumsy Smurf I have to make sure it’s in plastic Tupperware because it’s probably going to get dropped and broken. Being from LA [] I feel like someone’s got to bring some like crazy lattes and drinks you got to keep it LA. I feel like we gotta bring the energy.”

Playing Hefty Smurf, Alex Winter, will be your best London tour guide, “Brixton, Islington, those are where the best clubs are. Brixton has the best music. Islington has great restaurants and clubs. I love the theater. I love the RSC. I love the west end I love the tape modern but I’m seriously like my friends London tour guide.”
