Consider Rebecca Budig your tour guide to all the best places to stop if you’re planning a visit to her home state.

When she’s not deep in the soap opera drama on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Budig enjoys spending time in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. The 52-year-old actress gave us her list to follow if you’re ever visiting the Buckeye state.

Cincinnati Zoo

It’s no surprise the Cincinnati Zoo is Budig’s number one place to visit when she’s home. It has been named one of the Best Zoos in the U.S. for 2025, ranking number five on the list, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“I love the Cincinnati Zoo. I go there like a lot,” Budig, a mom to only child Charlotte Jo, said.

The zoo also includes a botanical garden and is recognized for its commitment to sustainability and conservation, as well as its engaging animal exhibits.

Graeter's Ice Cream

If you stop by Graeter's, a regional ice cream chain based in Cincinnati, you’ll find handcrafted French Pot ice cream. Budig’s favorite flavor: Chocolate Chip with vanilla. Salted Caramel Chip is a close second for the actress, but she says it’s the chip that makes it drool-worthy.

“The chips are this big. They're like this crazy chunk.” – Rebecca Budig

“They have those Food Network showsThey featured Graeter's ice cream, which is like a local place, and they like they freeze the chocolate looks like dark chocolate,” she said. “Then they just kind of it freezes around the outside of the ice cream and they scrape it, and it goes in. So it's just these like chunks. It's not like a uniform chip.”

“You can get basically candy bar-size chunks in that ice cream. And it's just so good.” – Rebecca Budig

Attend a Bengals or Reds Game

For the soap opera veteran, she’s rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals all the way. She’s not a big sports fanatic but says she likes to attend a Cincinnati Reds baseball game for the experience.

“I don't watch baseball, but I'm more of a football fan,” Budig said.

Home Is Where The Heart Is

Ohio, known as the “Heart of it All,” seems like the perfect stop for your next family vacation and building memories with the ones you love most. Budig, who has been open about her late father’s death last December, craves quality time more than anything when she goes home.

“The only place I want to be is home, like in my parents’ house. I grew up in that house. I worked there and I loved it,” the “All My Children” alum said.

“I stay at home. I'm literally with my parents. My dad passed in December, so I'm with my mom, and I just stayed home, and I go to ice cream, and I go to the Zoo.”

While reflecting on her childhood, the “Bold and the Beautiful” star says her favorite place to spend time with her dad was at home.

“He was a homebody,” she said. “We had this farm, and going there with him a lot, riding in the car with him, you know, holding his hand. And his office. I literally spent a lot of time at the office with my dad.”
