'Spinal Tap II: The End Continues’ trailer: Band rocks with Elton John & Paul McCartney

The long-awaited follow-up to 1984’s “This Is Spinal Tap” is finally hitting movie theaters!

The first trailer for “Spinal Tap 2” was released and it features cameos from none other than Elton John and Paul McCartney.

The movie is a sequel to the beloved 1984 mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap,” based on the fictional rock band, Spinal Tap, which has become a cult classic. It stars Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer, who all return as the heavy metal trio for the second iteration of the movie. In the new trailer, the band is set to play one reunion show, which comes years after the height of their success, with the band members being accustomed to their new everyday life. But how can they pull off a reunion when they don’t have a drummer?! Their previous one “sneezed himself into oblivion,” the band returns to the spotlight with the help of Marty DiBergi, a Scorsese-esque documentary filmmaker played by Rob Reiner, recording the band’s reunion concert.

There’s a slew of guest stars in the film as well, in addition to Elton John, Paul McCartney, on the silver screen.
