“Stranger Things” is going big for its series finale!
The two-hour final episode, titled “The Rightside Up,” will premiere on Netflix on December 31, as well as 350 movie theaters.
The episode will be in theaters from the December 31 premiere date through Jan 1, 2026, plenty of time over New Year’s Eve/Day.
No details on pricing or which theaters it will be available in just yet.
“We’re beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of ‘Stranger Things’ in theaters — it’s something we’ve dreamed about for years, and we’re so grateful to Ted, Bela, and everyone at Netflix for making it happen,” series creators Matt and Ross Duffer told Tudum. “Getting to see it on the big screen, with incredible sound, picture, and a room full of fans, feels like the perfect — dare we say bitchin’ — way to celebrate the end of this adventure.”
At home, “Stranger Things” Season 5 is being broken up into three release blocks over the holidays. The first four episodes arrive on November 26, over the Thanksgiving weekend. The next three episodes premiere on Christmas, followed by the finale on New Year’s Eve.
The anticipation for the show’s final season is at an all-time high, and we’re eating up every clue they’ll give us
We recently learned from a post byRoss Duffer the titles and runtimes for the first four episodes. “The Crawl,” the season 5 premiere episode, will be one hour and 8 minutes, Episode 2, which appears to be titled in part “The Vanishing,” will be 54 minutes long, the third episode, “The Turnbow Trap,” will be one hour and 6 minutes, and the fourth episode, “Sorcerer,” will be one hour and 23 minutes.
It's also been confirmed that fan favorite Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, will NOT be returning for the final season.
"I love that Joe Quinn is toying with people! But no, he’s dead," Matt Duffer told Empire in an Oct. 20 interview.
