Sydney Sweeney calls out claims she’s had plastic surgery: 'I’m so scared of needles'
Sydney Sweeney has one of the most scrutinized faces in modern Hollywood, but she swears she’s never done a thing to it.
In a joint interview with her “The Housemaid” co-star Amanda Seyfried in Allure, Sweeney was quick to shut down rumors she’s had any plastic surgery.
“Let’s debunk them all. I mean, I have never gotten work done,” she said, adding, “I am so scared of needles, you have no idea.”
When Seyfried suggested that some procedures can be “really effective once you get older,” Sweeney was adamant that she is “too scared of needles” to undergo any kind of cosmetic adjustment.
The “Euphoria” star also pointed out that people online compare photos of her when she was much younger (like pre-teen age) to current photos to try to “prove” she’s had work done.
“You cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting. Of course I’m going to look different,” Sweeney said. “Everybody on social media’s insane.”
The “Anyone But You” star previously opened up on people being critical of her looks when she was just a teenager.
"I have very strong eyebrow muscles. And I had someone tell me to fix my face or else I’m not going to make it,” she told Variety in October.
She continued, saying the person told her, “I should get Botox. I was 16! Or I’m in a casting and I’m reading my scene and the casting director is eating a bag of chips, and I’m like, ‘You’re not paying attention at all.'"
And her fear of needles was brought up then as well.
“I’ve never gotten anything done. I’m absolutely terrified of needles,” she told the outlet. “No tattoos. Nothing. I’m going to age gracefully.”
