Taylor Swift calls meeting Travis Kelce the 'greatest surprise' of her life
Taylor Swift is making a rare comment about her fiancé Travis Kelce.
In a clip promoting her upcoming “The End of an Era” docuseries on Disney+, the 35-year-old pop singer expresses her own amusement at how she and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end got together.
"The most meaningful relationship I’ve ever had started with a man saying he was ‘butthurt' that I didn’t wanna meet him. Greatest surprise of my life,” she said.
Taylor also jokingly compared her music career to Travis' sporting career.
She quipped, "We both entertain people. His with considerably more violence than mine."
The preview also features a phone call between Taylor and Travis, seen in the first trailer, with her saying, "You’ve got teammates, I’ve got teammates ... You’ve got coach [Andy] Reid, I’ve got my mom."
Travis, 36, previously revealed that he wanted to meet Taylor after watching her perform at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. However, he didn't get the opportunity to give Taylor a friendship bracelet because she didn’t meet with any fans after the show.
Speaking on his “New Heights” podcast, Travis said, "I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her."
They did eventually connect and began dating in 2023.
This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell," she told Time Magazine for her Person of the Year cover story.
The couple announced their engagement earlier this year in August, sharing the news on Instagram with the caption, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."
