DYERSVILLE, Iowa (KGAN) - The "Field of Dreams" in Dyersville came alive on Sunday with baseball legends and fans of all ages at the annual "Team of Dreams" day.
Kids got to play catch on the farm field and even see some real life legends like hall of fame athletes Steve Carlton and Wade Boggs.
Other activities included a silent auction for autographed gloves, baseballs, jerseys and movie posters and pictures.
Organizers said much of the 1989 film's success is because of the perfect location.
"If you haven't seen the movie, its an opportunity to see the field for the first time. If you have seen the movie, you kind of understand the magic behind it and playing catch with dad or family members. So there is just something magical about the field. Its hard to explain unless you experience it yourself," said Tyler Daugherty, director of sports and events.
