“The Blind Side” star Quinton Aaron’s family is giving an update on his health as he continues to be hospitalized.

Aaron’s family told TMZ that after being on life support earlier this week, he is "alert, aware and recovering” from a spinal stroke.

Their statement continued, “We acknowledge that you’ve heard about Quinton Aaron‘s condition. We appreciate the overwhelming love, support and prayers that Quinton has received over the past few days from his fans, the public, and our concerned community."

They also noted that, "We kindly ask the public to please respect the decisions we make and to please understand that false information or statements may be made by others who continue to come forward but are not fully informed or aware of all of the facts surrounding his condition nor are they authorized to do so."

On Monday, it was reported that Aaron had fallen at his home and was in an Atlanta-area hospital for the past three days, where he was “put on life support due to a severe blood infection,” according to a GoFundMe set up on his behalf.

His fall and hospitalization came not long after a series of medical battles for the star. In March 2025, TMZ reported he had an emergency visit to a California hospital after developing a fever and coughing up blood. Doctors reportedly believed he was suffering from Type A flu and pneumonia.

He also recently lost 200 pounds after a multi-year weight loss journey.

Aaron is best known for his performance as Michael Oher in the 2009 film “The Blind Side,” playing the real-life NFL star who was taken in by the Tuohy family as a young man. Sandra Bullock won an Oscar for her role as Leigh Anne Tuohy.
