'The Summer I Turned Pretty’ warns superfans to keep themselves in check this summer
It’s a return to Cousins, the fictional beach town in “The Summer I Turned Pretty” but the series creators have issued a warning this week ahead the third and final season.
“Cousins is our safe place. Everything is good. Everything is magical. Let’s keep the conversation kind this summer,” a tweet from the show’s social media account reads.
“We have a ZERO tolerance policy for bullying and hate speech,” the tweet continued with a “community guidelines” rulebook they want their fans to follow.
“If you engage in any of the following you will be banned: Hate speech or bullying. Targeting our cast or crew. Harassing or doxxing members of the community."
“TSITP” creators are trying to get ahead of the curve, before fans start shading the cast and crew which has happened in previous seasons.
The show revolves around a love triangle that has made fans extremely passionate since its first episode. Fans have labeled themselves “Team Jeremiah” or “Team Conrad” a la “Twilight,” so now, they are trying to keep their digital footprint for the show nice and clean.
“The Summer I Turned Pretty” returns for its third and final season on July 16 on Amazon Prime.
