While Tom Brady has consistently quashed rumors he would return to the NFL following his 2022 retirement, sports observers believe he may be softening on that position.

As the New York Jets reckon with the need for a new, star quarterback, following Aaron Rodgers' achilles' injury, Brady was asked about whether he might fill that slot on his "Let's Go" podcast.

Brady's co-host Jim Gray asked the five-time Super Bowl MVP whether the Jets had called and or if he was considering joining the Jets either way.

Next question. You already know," Brady said. "I love being with you guys on Mondays and I love what we got going.

Observers have noted that Brady did not explicitly or emphatically say "no." Although it is not a "yes," it was not a complete shutdown of the idea.

However, Brady's attempt at purchasing a stake in the ownership of the Las Vegas Raiders were it to be finally approved, would essentially bar him from competing against them.

A senior reporter for The Athletic also reported Wednesday that the Jets were not interested in bringing on Brady.

"Brady has also made clear to people close to him, he’s done playing football," the reporter posted on X.
