Tom Hiddleston’s reaction to a Taylor Swift mention goes viral

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston dated for the blink of an eye, and that’s all the “Loki” star offered when her name was dropped during a recent interview.

Hiddleston and his “The Life of Chuck” co-star Karen Gillan appeared on the U.K.’s Heart Radio on Thursday when host Devin Griffin mentioned the pop star offhand.

After Hiddleston shared the internet rabbit holes he finds himself falling down (reading about sports highlights if you’re curious), Griffin dropped Swift’s name.

“We did just find out — Taylor Swift, big fan of a sourdough recipe blog. Very, very specific, but I see how you could get into that,” Griffin said.

Hiddleston didn’t say a word and looked a little blank for a moment, uncertain of where the mention was going, but with no segue into talk of their fling, he started to laugh and answer.

Gillan was all too familiar with Swift’s love of sourdough, joking, "That feels like an easter egg for something.”

“No, I think it might be, like something to do with the Super Bowl,” she continued. “Where is the Super Bowl, which city? And then isn’t the sourdough the mascot for that city or something?”

Hiddleston then teased Gillan, saying, “You’ve got a deep knowledge of the NFL.”

Griffin moved on from the topic from there as they all laughed off Gillan’s unique theory (though some Swifties do think the sourdough has a deeper meaning!).

And it appears Griffin had no intention of catching Hiddleston in a gotcha moment, as the clip was shared on the station’s TikTok with the headline “When you accidentally mention their ex”

In the caption, they added, “Man didn’t flinch.”

Hiddleston and Swift met at the Met Gala in 2016 and later dated for three months, some of which was shared on Swift’s social media (which has since been deleted).

But both have moved on to new relationships. Swift has been with Travis Kelce since 2023, and Hiddleston has been engaged to actress Zawe Ashton since 2022, the same year they welcomed their first child. The couple has a second child on the way as well.
