'Traitors' host Alan Cumming says it will be 'lovely' to have 'real people' on new season
Are you a faithful? Or a traitor?
Fans will now get the chance to find out during an upcoming season of “The Traitors” because this time, they’re inviting “civilian” aka everyday viewers, to that fabulous castle in the Scottish Highlands.
The show’s Emmy-award winning host Alan Cumming spoke about the season, which is set to shoot in the spring and air on NBC, at the inaugural Televerse 2025 conference at J.W. Marriott Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday.
“Real people can play too. Reality people will come with their shtick, they understand TV, reality players. But I think it’ll be lovely to have real people, and the money will mean more to them,” Cumming said.
He added, “Some aren’t as invested in the jackpot part of it and I think that’ll change with real people.”
The first three seasons have aired on Peacock, NBC’s streaming platform. The show’s second season earned two Emmys, one for Cumming as host and one for Outstanding Reality Competition Program.
The show’s fourth season recently announced its celebrity cast, including Donna Kelce, "Real Housewives" stars Candiace Dillard Bassett, Caroline Stanbury, Dorinda Medley, Lisa Rinna and Porsha Williams, "Top Chef" host Kristen Kish, "Big Brother" stars Ian Terry and Tiffany Mitchell, "Survivor" stars Rob Cesternino, Natalie Anderson and Yamil "Yam Yam" Arocho, comedian Ron Funches, and actors Stephen Colletti and Michael Rapaport.
The official air date has yet to be revealed.
