The Beatlessan franciscoWASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) The cancellation of ABC's "The Muppets" is apparently giving the show's house band time to tour.
Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem performed live at the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco Sunday. The band played a five-song set featuring "Can You Picture That?" from "The Muppet Movie," two Beatles covers and more.
Between songs, giant screens played video segments of the band sightseeing and talking about San Francisco.
They closed their 20-minute show with a rousing rendition of "With A Little Help From My Friends" aided by the Oakland Tabernacle Choir.
The performance, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem's first live festival appearance, was streamed live on go90. When the Outside Lands gig was announced in April, the band released the following statement:
"We've toured the world over, but this gig at Outside Lands Musical Festival in San Francisco is ab-so-tively gonna be the most awe-striking, ear-splitting, mojo-rising performance of our career. If you want to soak in the total Mayhem experience, let your freak flag fly, and be there!"
