"When I was a young boy, my father took me into the city to see a marching band."

Some version of that lyric, from My Chemical Romance's emo glam rock anthem "Welcome to the Black Parade," will likely play out in the heads of the attendees of next year's "When We Were Young" festival in Las Vegas, Nevada as thousands of Gen X, millennials and Gen Z fans gather to see their favorite alternative, punk and emo bands of the 2000s.

The festival began in 2021 as a nostalgic celebration of the days when Paramore, Green Day and blink-182 ruled the airwaves – and their logos covered notebooks, lockers and bedrooms across the country.

While the event's first two years each featured different lineups, rotating the vast number of bands from that era still out playing live, the third installment will bring back some groups from the first two years for a specific kind of fan treat.

Bands like My Chemical Romance, Jimmy Eat World, Simple Plan, Coheed & Cambria and The All-American Rejects – as well as nearly every other group performing except second headliners Fall Out Boy – will be performing their classic albums in full, like "The Black Parade," "Bleed American," No Pads, No Helmets ... Just Balls," "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV," and "The All-American Rejects" (albums respective to the five groups mentioned earlier). In all, around 50 artists will be playing full album shows over the course of Oct. 19, 2024.

Tickets go on pre-sale at 10 a.m. MST on Friday, Nov. 17.
