Lana Condor believes in love at first bite—and sight! The 28-year-old actress, who stars in her new romantic comedy Worth the Wait, talks about finding her 'happily ever after' in real life. Condor reveals the moment she knew her husband, Anthony De La Torre, was ‘the one’ was during their first date.

She recalls the pair going to a diner, where her now-husband had a big reaction to a “very simple turkey sandwich,” which piqued her interest.

“He takes his first bite and was like, “Ooo my God. Wow,” Condor laughs. “I remember thinking to myself, I'm like, ‘I really like you, and I need to get to know more about you, because if a simple turkey sandwich can bring this much joy out of you, this is a type of person that I want to be around.’”

The couple is still in newlywed bliss after tying the knot in an intimate ceremony at the Serra Franciscan Retreat Center in Malibu back in October 2024. According to Vogue, Condor and her hubby solidified their marriage by getting matching tattoos of their wedding date on their arms the next day.

Since then, Condor and her musician man have been busy with their careers and long-distance travel that sometimes keeps them apart. Still, the two manage to keep the romance alive, and Condor gushes, saying her man makes her feel like “the queen of the world.” Back in 2022, De La Torre and Condor released a duet called ‘No One Can’ about their engagement that had fans swooning.

Condor tells Sinclair Entertainment’s Courtney Tezeno about the sweetest gesture her husband has ever done – apparently, the list is too long to name just one.

“A lot of his music is loosely dedicated or about me in some capacity,” Condor admits. “He's very romantic, but I think, honestly, it's the small gestures. It's like he will make me breakfast every morning in bed.”

The 28-year-old actress, who notably played Lara Jean Covey in the romantic comedy ‘To All the Boys I've Loved Before’ film, also dishes on her co-stars from the beloved film. Peter Kavinsky, played by Noah Centineo, and Trevor, played by Ross Butler, are best buds in the film trilogy. Naturally, fans went into a frenzy when they found out Condor and Butler play lovers in their new Tubi original film, ‘Worth the Wait.’

We’re sure ‘To All the Boys’ fans are screaming at the results – even Condor admits it’s “crazy” that Kai’s character beats Peter by a long shot. But Butler, who stars as Kai, explains how the couples are at “different stages” in their fictional romances.

“They’re just different because [Peter] was a high school relationship, and ours was one that we went across the world together. In ‘To All the Boys,’ they were kind of forced together by circumstance, where this one is, like, we were separated by circumstance, and we chose it.”

Spoiler alert! The actor argues that it makes sense that his character won because Kai proposes to Leah at the end of the movie. ‘Worth the Wait’ is a successful love at first sight storyline – a concept Condor says she “absolutely” believes in. For Butler he admits he’s “on the fence about the traditional love at first sight idea” but reveals he did hit it off quickly with the new girl he’s dating.

“The girl I'm seeing now, we spoke for five minutes at a bar and then just exchanged numbers, and I never do that!” Butler adds it doesn’t take him long to realize if he wants to pursue a romance, “especially in my 30s, I can pick out pretty soon if I'm going to get along with someone.”
