Wrestling legend Buff Bagwell has leg amputated, still plans to get 'back in the ring’

Wrestling legend Buff Bagwell had a large portion of his right leg amputated earlier this week.
The former wrestling champ’s friend Steve Stasiak shared the news in a Facebook post citing complications from a car crash five year ago that led to the serious surgery.
“Yesterday morning, Marcus Bagwell – Buff Bagwell – had his leg amputated above the knee,” Steve begins his post.
“The injuries from his 2020 accident were never fully healed. He gave everything he had to avoid this outcome – but that fight led him here. And now begins a whole new kind of battle,” the post continued.
In his announcement, Stasiak shared a photo of Bagwell in his hospital bed wearing a gown, hooked up to wires with his amputated leg all bandaged up.
Bagwell, 55, is best known for as a five-time World Tag Team Champion in his appearances with the World Championship Wrestling from 1991 – 2001.
Even though Bagwell did seem to have a smile on his face in the FB post, Stasiak told his followers that this situation has been tough for the former wrestler.
“I’ve known Buff a long time. I’ve seen him in the spotlight, I’ve seen him behind the scenes and I’ve seen him fight through things most people never even hear about. This one this is hard. For him. For everyone who knows and loves him,” Stasiak also included in his post.
Before the surgery, Bagwell, with his fiancee by his side, turned to YouTube to explain to his fans what was happening as “the result of a five-year battle trying to save my leg.”
Thinking of your speedy recovery, Buff!
