world seriesLike millions of Americans, I was glued to the TV well past midnight last night as the Loveable Losers finally laid claim on “next year.”
Amid the goggle-strewn interviews and champagne flying in the background, Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet Marketing, delivered the MVP award to left fielder Ben Zobrist.
That award? A 2017 Chevrolet Camaro 50th Anniversary Edition convertible.
“In this historic matchup, Zobrist’s performance on the field truly embodies the same ‘Never Give Up’ spirit that drives the Chevrolet team to innovate every day and that has made us the Most Awarded Automotive Brand two years in a row,” Edwards said.
Never give up spirit? Yeah, we think a go-ahead double in the 10th inning of Game 7 in the World Series qualifies.
So, what exactly will Zobrist be driving home?
The 50th Anniversary Edition has a Nightfall Gray Metallic exterior, featuring 50th Anniversary badging and additional edition-specific content. Some of the highlights include:
Zobrist will receive the Camaro 2SS model, which features a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that delivers 455 horsepower. Base price for the Camaro Coupe is $27,595 but the convertible with the 50th Anniversary Package starts at $50,695.
Our question: Wonder of we could turn those orange accents to Cubbie Blue? At the very least, the license plate should read: FlyTheW.
