WASHINGTON (TND) — Ray Liotta, 67, passed away while in the Dominican Republic. He was currently shooting a movie called "Dangerous Waters" on the island, however, he died in his sleep, according to a source close to the actor.
TMZ was told there were no suspicions of foul play. His fiancée, Jacy Nittolo, was with him while he was filming.
Liotta was well known for his roles in "Goodfellas," where he played New York mobster Henry Hill alongside Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. He starred as well in "Field of Dreams," "Cop Land," "Something Wild" and "Wild Hogs," among others.
He played Fred Jung in "Blow," who was the father of Johnny Depp's character, George Jung.
The Hollywood actor had recently gained a resurgence in the independent film market, including "Marriage Story" — where he shared a 2020 Indie Spirit Award for its ensemble.
Liotta most recently was in the Sopranos prequel movie, "The Many Saints of Newark," and in the Amazon Prime series, "Hanna."
He asked Nittolo to marry him during Christmas of 2020, which he shared in an Instagram post.
Liotta is survived by a daughter, Karsen. He had his daughter with his first wife, actress and producer Michelle Grace.
