2-year-old girl reported missing found sleeping in Michigan woods using dog as pillow

A missing 2-year-old girl in Michigan was found safe in the woods with her two dogs -- with one guarding her and the other serving as the child's pillow, according to reports.

WJMN said the child was reported missing in Menominee County Wednesday night. They were told she wandered away from home with the family's two dogs.

"An extensive search followed with police using drones, K-9 units, search-and-rescue teams and local volunteers," WJMN reported. "She was found three miles away from home by a local citizen on an ATV around midnight. She was safe, and sleeping with her head on the family’s small dog when she was discovered. The other, larger dog was still nearby."

The girl was then evaluated by medical staff and was reportedly in good health.

Her mother told WJMN she and her loved ones expressed gratitude to everyone who helped find her daughter.
