WASHINGTON (7News) — A heat wave hit the DMV area over the weekend, and one of the country's leaders paid the price.
A wax sculpture of Abraham Lincoln, placed outside of Garrison Elementary School in Northwest, D.C., began to melt from the temperatures.

As it melted, the sculpture lost its head.
School leaders, therefore, took the head to be repaired.
This came as temperatures hit100 degrees and the area was under a heat alert over the weekend.
