CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — It's our favorite Chattanooga Halloween tradition: Seeing what Effie's costume is this year.
Effie Nesin, 6, is in kindergarten. She suffered a brain injury at birth and has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and developmental delay.
For the past several years, Effie's father Chris has gone above and beyond with her Halloween costume.
In 2019, he built her a backhoe:
In 2021, Effie was Amelia Earhart on a plane complete with a working propeller!
It's time now to unveil Effie's 2023 costume, which doesn't just go above and beyond, it's goes "to INFINITY and beyond!!"
Chris played the part of Buzz Lightyear and Effie was Woody, from the Toy Story movies.
Chris built a working toy racecar to carry Effie around and added a few fake legs to look like he was riding on top.

Effie and her family hope you are touched and inspired by this example of parental love!
We can't wait to see what Effie's costume will be next year!
