Maryland's oldest living resident celebrated his 108th trip around the sun on Saturday.

Chester Meros arrived in Baltimore over 80 years ago in search of employment.

He found a career at Bethlehem Steel, helping to build various ships.

His favorite ship is Baltimore's SS John Brown, one of only two remaining Liberty ships in the country.

Meros has survived both the Spanish flu and COVID-19.

Reports also show he is the 14th oldest living man in the United States.

Cheer to Chester Meros on celebrating a long life!
