PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A woman was seen holding up traffic in a Rhode Island city on Monday after jumping on top of a UPS delivery truck.
Video shows the woman trying to hit her boyfriend with the windshield wiper blade of the truck.
Her boyfriend was trying to stop her from engaging in such wild behavior -- she wasn't remotely interested in that," said David Heanult, the owner of Ocean State Tackle, who witnessed the chaos.
The Providence Police Department responded to the incident and identified the woman as Amber Bois.
Police said Bois' boyfriend told them he and Bois were sitting in a parking lot when Bois became aggressive and left the car.
[The boyfriend] stated he then attempted to control Bois when she began to physically assault him and threaten bystanders at which time she jumped on a UPS truck while banging and pulling off the truck's windshield wiper," police wrote in a statement to WJAR.
Police said Bois actively resisted arrest and assaulted officers.
She attacked the three police officers that were trying to restrain her," said Heanult. "She kicked them in the face."
Police said Bois kicked, spit, and bit them as they tried to place her in the back of the cop car.
They [responding officers] showed an unbelievable amount of restrain and compassion," said Heanult.
After Bois refused to put her legs in the car, police said a rescue arrived to the scene, put Bois on a stretcher securing her arms and legs, then transported her to Rhode Island Hospital.
Police have not confirmed if any drugs or alcohol were involved and did not list her exact charges.
