On Easter Sunday, one local church used their service as a platform for kids to showcase their talents while staying out of trouble.

It has a lot of it has to with discipline," Alicia Alston, instructor for the church's youth program said. "So a lot of things that I'm preparing them for is what they're going to go through in life.

Alston said the church serves the community in many ways. She plays a key role in helping kids learn every move for their ministry, keeping kids safe through dancing.

We don't want stuff that they do outside of the church to get them caught up," she said. "What we do is we bring it and present it in a positive way to let parents know that they're installing into their future.

Several ministries took place on Easter Sunday where kids danced for the community.

The more the kids focused on that stage, the more they can stay out of harm's way.
