Fire damaged a historic home in Skowhegan, Maine, Friday afternoon.

The Civil War-era Coburn Mansion, which was home to Gov. Abner Coburn, who served from 1863-64, had been undergoing repairs. The large Greek Revival structure was on the National Register of Historic Places.

According to fire officials from Skowhegan and Waterville, no one was in the house when it caught fire. The cause of the fire is not known, but there were several power tools inside and outside belonging to the workmen who were readying the building for sale.

An investigation is underway.

The damage appears to be confined to the attic and second floor.
