MILLCREEK, Utah (KUTV) — How much is your pet's life worth?

For one Utah couple, spending $15,000 to save the life of their cat Lilou was not too much of a price tag.

The COVID-19 pandemic has already hit Golden Gibson and Lianna Warden hard.

Gibson, who works setting up equipment, such as stage lighting for events, lost his job to the virus before most in February.

Despite tough times – their love for a very unique cat, Lilou, outweighed the stresses of worrying to pay for it all.

KUTV's Adam Forgie spoke with the couple – and their vet, Dr. Jennifer Alterman, DVM, DAVDC– about the decision, which was met with an outpouring of love and support from their community.

A GoFundMe page and a separate fundraiser have been created to offset some of the medical bills.
