While Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium is closed to the public due to the COVID-19 measures, staff have allowed penguins to explore. One curious rockhopper was recently captured on camera encountering some neighbors: a bevy of belugas.
This footage, posted to the Shedd Aquarium Facebook page, shows the meeting between the penguin, named Wellington, and the belugas, named Kayavak, Mauyak and Annik.
“Belugas are northern hemisphere animals, so they would likely never see a penguin in the wild!” the aquarium wrote.
