U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a man who tried smuggling methamphetamine from Mexico into El Paso after a CBP dog sniffed the drugs hiding in his butt.

According to CBP, the 26-year-old American man was arrested on Sunday at the Ysleta International crossing after officers patted him down and discovered he was hiding two packages of methamphetamine weighting 0.32 pounds in between his butt cheeks.

CBP said the discovery was made at around 4 a.m., when the man tried to cross the bridge walking and a drug sniffing dog picked up the scent of the hidden drugs.

CBP did not reveal the identity of the suspect and just called him "cheeky smuggler."

As the photographs show, the packages of meth were peculiarly shaped.

The suspect was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.

Following the arrest, CBP Ysleta Port Director Arnie Gomez released the following statement:

The keen observational skills of a CBP officer resulted in this seizure being made. Body carriers are a challenge, however, our mix of officer expertise, canine support, and tools and technology all assist us in identifying and stopping these types of smuggling attempts.
