A social media video showing an old Taco Bell receipt from 2012 has gone viral and many fans of the chain aren't happy.

The TikTok was posted Tuesday by user @yo_lovelyocean and has nearly 650,000 views. It's captioned, "I'm so upset. I can't even justify going to #tacobell anymore."

The user says she recently found the receipt, which shows she paid $2.59 for two Beefy 5-layer Burritos.

In 2024, just one of those burritos costs about $3.69 without tax, according to the fast food chain's online menu.

Can you even get anything from Taco Bell anymore for $2.59? Like one item?" the user said. "Where did we go wrong?"

Users in the comments chimed in with their own objections and recollections of the restaurant's previous prices.

2010 me learned to love Taco Bell [because] it was cheap and accessible. 2024 me plans Taco Bell as a splurge purchase," one person wrote.

"When I was in high school the 7-layer burrito was $.79 and tacos were $.50. Change could get you so full," said another.

Data shows the amount you'll pay at Taco Bell depends somewhat on where you live.

According to NetCredit, Indiana residents are charged the least, paying a -10.05% price premium. Alaskans have to cough up the most money, with a 16.40% price premium for the food.
