AtlantaATLANTA (WGXA) - The Georgia Supreme Court honored the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday during a Special Session after the football team clinched their place in the Super Bowl in Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.
The nine justices donned Falcons caps during their session on Tuesday to wish them well in their pursuit of a Super Bowl win on Feb. 5 against the New England Patriots.
The justices also entered the courtroom to a call of "Rise Up!" - the Falcons' battle cry - instead of the traditional "All rise."
“It’s been a great season, and now it’s time for all Falcons fans to RISE UP!” said Chief Justice P. Harris Hines, according to a release from the Supreme Court.
The justices all cheered, "Go Falcons!" before ending their session.
The last time the Atlanta Falcons went to the Super Bowl was in 1999, when they faced off against the Denver Broncos.
