SHELTON, Wash. (KOMO) - Like (grand)father, like (grand)son?

A family in Shelton now has the distinction of having two family members who share the honor of being the first baby born in a new year in their town.

Leon Logan was born on Jan. 1, 1964 at Shelton Hospital - the first baby born there in 1964. His grandson Angus Connell was just born Sunday afternoon at the same hospital, now known as Mason General Hospital.

"I am really happy they share the same birthday," said Angus’ mother, Amanda. "(Dad) is pretty proud to have that honor to share."

Angus was born a healthy 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. He has two older sisters, 8 and 3.
