Hard Rock Cafe launches 24 karat gold burger to benefit charity

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Hard Rock Cafe just launched a new global menu, which includes none other than a burger topped with 24 karat gold.

It’s the world’s first 24-karat gold leaf steak burger.And yes, the gold is edible.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Action Against Hunger to help fight world hunger.

"A lot of 'wows,' a lot of 'oohs and ahhs,' a few eyebrows, but a lot of smiles," said Hard Rock Cafe General Manager Tony Iannice.

If tasting gold isn't your thing, Hard Rock added several other burger selections to their menu in addition to boozy milkshakes, shareables and salads.
