SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) – A dog who passed away from cancer was given a final moment to lay in some snow Monday.

Staff with the Salt Lake County Ice Center heard the owners’ request for snow— an uncommon occurrence in September— and they delivered.

Officials with Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation said the dog, Maggie, enjoyed her final moments in shaved ice with her owners at their home in Sugar House.

They said staff put the ice in bins and buckets for the owners to take home.

“Sending our love and condolences to Maggie's family,” park and recreation officials shared in a social post. “We appreciate the unique privilege of providing her a little heaven on earth.”
