Illinois mom calls $1.4M lottery win with kids' birthdays 'absolutely wackadoodle'

ILLINOIS (TND) — A mom in Illinois thinks it is "absolutely wackadoodle" that she won $1.4 million by using her kids' birthday as lottery numbers.

The unnamed mom explained that her big win came after having a rough night with her baby.

"My baby woke up crying, and after tucking them back into bed, I had trouble falling back asleep," she said. "So to pass the time, I opened the lottery app on my phone, and I couldn’t believe it when it showed that I had just won $1.4 million! – absolutely wackadoodle."

She matched all five numbers in the Wednesday, March 6 Lucky Day Lotto. The winning numbers were:6-8-16-17-20.

After choosing to remain anonymous, "Lucky Mom" was written in all caps in the section for the winner's name.

She added that she plays Lucky Day Lotto "here and there" and always uses her kids' birthdays as her lucky numbers.

"I have the best job in the world: I’m a stay-at-home mom, and I already feel very lucky and blessed for where I’m at in life – but today, the word ‘lucky’ took on a whole new meaning," Lucky Mom explained.
