Kitten rescued from car's engine compartment during major storm in Pennsylvania

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A kitten was lucky to have all nine lives after crews took apart a car to save the trapped baby's life.

According to the Lincoln County Fire Company, the situation happened Saturday night after an Ephrata resident heard crying from their car's engine compartment.

After officials arrived, they discovered a small kitten stuck inside the vehicle.

For almost two hours crews, with the permission of the vehicle's owner, worked to free the cat by removing multiple pieces from the car's under carriage.

The car's belt was also removed.

The cat, now free, received a happy resolution to the ordeal.

Once freed, a local resident offered to keep and care for the kitten," says Lincoln Fire Company.

Volunteers recommended that the local name their newly freed pet "Lincoln."

How the adventurous feline got into such a predicament remains unknown.
