Lucky, one of the oldest elephants in the country, celebrates 60th birthday Sunday

SAN ANTONIO (WOAI/KABB) -- The San Antonio Zoo celebrated a very special birthday forits oldest pachyderm, Lucky, the Asian elephant on Sunday.

The zoo did a live broadcast of the celebration on its Facebook page in celebration of Lucky's 60th birthday.

Fans were able to enjoy the celebration in the comfort of their own home, making this celebration one she will never forget!

The animal care team hosted a chat as well where the Golden Girls - Lucky, Nichole and Karen enjoyed an array of their favorite fruits and vegetables.

The average lifespan for an Asian elephant is about 47, making Lucky one of the oldest elephants in the country.

Audiences can virtually connect with the zoo on their new media page on their website. There, you can find a collection of videos, including a live webcam of jellyfish, animal chats, Nature Education/“Zoo-It-Yourself” DIY videos and Zen Zoo yoga.

Their Facebook page also offers live animal chats Monday - Friday at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and at 10:30 a.m., tune in for Zen Zoo yoga live.
