A man has been arrested after authorities found a 'Molotov cocktail' and other items during a routine traffic stop.

Baldwin County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) performed a traffic stop on interstate 10 on a Texas-plated Ford pickup truck Wednesday morning.

The driver, Christopher Nelson Beno, said he was traveling from San Antonio, Texas, to Ocala, Florida according to BCSO.

During a search of his vehicle, deputies stated they located marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, and a replica firearm.

During a more extensive search, investigators said they found a 'Molotov cocktail' in his vehicle.

Beno told investigators the reason he had the explosive was because he couldn't legally own a firearm due to his criminal history.

Beno's crime history revealed numerous felony charges.

He was placed under arrest and charged with possession, manufacture, transportation of a destructive device or bacteriological or biological weapon, possession of marijuana second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Beno was transported to BCSO.
