CALIFORNIA (WKRC) - A TikTok showing a Chicken McNugget and fries bundle going for $25.39 went viral.
TikToker @shannon_montipaya postedthe video on March 27.
"This is McFlation," the woman wrote in the caption of the TikTok, which has amassed over 1.6 million views.
The ad on the digital menu board appeared to encourage customers to "complete their order" by adding a Sprite.
"It's $25.39 for a 40-piece nuggets and two large fries. You couldn't even throw in the Sprite?" the woman said in the video.
"Remember when 40 pieces nuggets was $5 and a large drink was $1?" one user commented on the video.
"It's 18.99 in Arizona," another wrote.
The video was posted shortly before a study foundMcDonald's prices had increased by 100% in the last decade.
The study found that a McDouble, which cost around $1.19 in 2014, now costs nearly three times that amount at $3.19.
A medium fry, which went for around $1.59 ten years ago, now costs around $3.79.
The McChicken, once a staple of the iconic Dollar Menu, now costs around $3 at some locations.
The fan-favorite Big Mac once went for $3.99. It now sits on the menu for around $5.99 today.
Americans are shocked by how much they are paying both at restaurants and for groceries. Several social media posts showing abnormally-priced menu items have gone viral recently, including a $24 Five Guys receipt which caused customers to declare prices at the chain were "out of control."
