BUFORD, Ga. (WKRC) - Meagan Nash says her son with Down syndrome was rejected by a talent agency when she submitted photos.

Meagan submitted the photos of her 15-month-old son Asher to a Georgia agency with the goal of landing a deal with a children's apparel maker.

Meagan, who also volunteers for the Down Syndrome Association of Atl (DSAA) and the Down Syndrome Diagnostic Network (DSDN), was told the agency didn't even send the photos for consideration to OshKosh, assuming they wouldn't want a child with special needs.

Pictures of Asher have since been shared all over the internet and even got the attention of the children's clothing company. (Photos provided by Crystal Barbee Photography.)

OshKosh met with Meagan and her family on Tuesday, October 25. As of Wednesday, October 26, Meagan could not confirm the result of the meeting.

"We had our meeting with Oshkosh yesterday," she wrote via email to Local 12 on Wednesday. "We would like to let everyone know that they will know the outcome of the meeting very soon!"

Meagan says she is very proud of her son and wants everyone to know he is just like other children.

"I knew when Asher was born he was destined to be great and do great things. So I am very proud to share his beauty with the world," she wrote to Local 12.

"The world is always changing and so is our perception of people with Down syndrome and other disabilities. I want people to be able to see my son or others like him in an ad and not instantly say, 'Oh, he has Down syndrome.'"

"I want them to say, 'Oh, I love that shirt that baby is wearing, I want that for my child!'"

When we asked Meagan what makes Asher smile like that, she replied, "Asher seeks out and finds the joy and happiness in everything. He tends to always have a smile on his face."

Meagan also said Asher loves to play with his older sister, Addison.

Local 12 will update this story when we learn the outcome of the meeting with OshKosh.
