Officials of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently announced the upcoming release of "Hymns--for Home and Church."

The consolidated collection of 450 to 500 hymns and children's songs is expected to be published in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French by the end of 2026, with additional languages to come in the following years. By 2030, the book of hymns will be available in up to 50 different languages with worldwide members of The Church worshiping through the same sacred collection of music.

Officials stated that "Hymns--for Home and Church" will be available both digitally and in print.

The new collection of music is said to represent the communal nature of song and worship.

According to Church officials, the tunes compiled will range from Church classics, songs borrowed from other faiths and new features.

Church authorities initially announced their plans to revise the 1985 "Hymns" and 1989 "Children's Songbook" in June of 2018, requesting member feedback. Five years and 17,000 song submissions later, the project is complete.

Officials added that while the collection has been condensed, some hymns and songs are also being revised to be more globally relevant and up-to-date.

“What a blessing ‘Hymns—for Home and Church’ will be for all of us!” said Susan Porter, general president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. “I love the power of the hymns to touch my heart as I sing about the Savior and His gospel of joy.”
