SPANAWAY, Wash. (KOMO) — A man accused of evading deputies twice has been arrested after a K-9 found him hiding naked in a garbage can.
It all started when deputies attempted to contact a man sleeping in a stolen F550 with his 4-year-old son and girlfriend on Aug. 11. The man fled into King County then Snohomish County before going into Seattle where he crashed and then fled on foot.
On Aug. 21, deputies responded to a call about a suspicious car near the Pierce County Airport. A Pierce County deputy ran the license plate and recognized the car's actual owner from a pursuit earlier in the month.
The suspect was wanted for several felony warrants and was known to carry firearms.
Responding deputies called for additional units to set up containment and a felony stop. The son got out of the car and went with deputies, but the girlfriend stayed inside the vehicle. A40mm less lethal round to make a hole in the rear window of the vehicle. The woman started to yell she was getting dressed.
After a few moments, the suspect exited the vehicle nude and then fled on foot. He had jumped several fences before deputies lost sight of him. They set up a perimeter and called for K9 Bronco to assist.
Pierce County's K-9, Bronco, tracked the suspect to a backyard where deputies found him inside a trash can before taking him into custody.
