Allie Scheetz and her fiancé Andrew Ensign had been engaged for over a year when Allie was diagnosed with Acute T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, a type of cancer.

In October, she noticed some bruises had gotten worse, and after some tests, received her cancer diagnosis. She and Andrew, who had been together for seven years, knew it was time to get married, OhioHealth said in a press release.

Saturday, the couple were joined by family, friends, and Allie's oncologist Dr.Basem William in the chapel of Riverside Methodist Hospital where Allie was admitted to the Blood and Marrow Transplant unit for treatment.

They had ordered their wedding bands prior to the cancer diagnosis and ordered clothes on Amazon this week. In front of 20 guests, they tied the knot in the hospital chapel.

OhioHealth said hospital staff put on a reception for them and the guests with a wedding cake, pizza, and other refreshments.

Afterward, Allie, who already completed her first round of chemotherapy, chose to shave her head before beginning the second round.

She will take some time to recover before continuing treatments and hopes tobe home with her new husband in time for Christmas, OhioHealth said.
