Police huff and puff after runaway 'Pickles' the piglet dodges capture

SEBASTOPOL, Calif. (TND) — Here piggy, piggy! Police officers got their steps in for the day after chasing down a piglet through multiple blocks.

Police officers Whitehall and Thomas with theSebastopol Police Department got the unusual call about a young pig that was darting in and out of a California roadway.

The piglet pursuit was posted on the police department's Facebook account.

"Pickles" showed the officers he was too fast.

Body camera footage shows the lively chase with officers and bystanders running after the piglet.

"Stay there dude," the officer breathlessly urges the pig. "C'mon man."

"Pickels" is seen evading arrest by dodging between legs and weaving through neighborhood streets.

Police said "Pickles" was eventually "taken into custody" when they cornered him in a yard.

The hog was returned to his mother at the scene.

The relieved officers issued a gentle warning rather than pursuing formal charges for evading arrest.

Instead, we felt it was beneficial to just admonish “Pickles” for running from officers!
