SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A new fishing record has been set for Lake Springfield.
According to Big Red's Bait and Tackle's Facebook page, a 98-pound blue catfish was caught in Lake Springfield on Sunday by John Rath, setting a new record.
The fish was released back into Lake Springfield for a chance to be caught again.
