State Representative Chad Christensen declined a request for comment Thursday after he put up two fingers in the form of "bunny ears" behind a fellow speaking lawmaker.

Representative Randy Armstrong was discussing a bill that would remove a government requirement to post all public notices in newspapers when Christensen tried putting fingers behind his head several times. The bill ended up failing.

"As the Speaker of the Idaho House of Representatives, it is my responsibility to maintain the order and decorum of the House," Speaker of the House Scott Bedke said in a statement. "It is our responsibility as Representatives to conduct the people’s business in a serious and dignified manner. Civility is an important part of the legislative process and should be cultivated by all members as they work in the best interest of their constituents."

"Unfortunately, lines were crossed today, and Rep. Christensen exhibited behavior unbecoming of a Representative. I have spoken with him regarding the incident and have made clear my expectations going forward.

Christensen represents Idaho District 32, House Seat B. He is in his first term and is from Ammon.

Christensen recently made headlines after calling one of the governor's impromptu press conferences a tantrum. In the speech, Little asked lawmakers to stop the discussion of ending Idaho's emergency declaration.
