WASHINGTON (TND) — Bacon might go well with coffee for breakfast but what about a pork-flavored latte?
Well, the Shanghai Starbucks Reserve in China thought it was worth a try.
The "braised pork latte" was dubbed the "Abundant Year Savoury Latte" and was inspired by the Chinese Lunar New Year, CNN reported.
The drink is a combination ofDongpo Braised Pork Flavor Sauce with espresso and steamed milk, with extra pork sauce and pork breast meat for garnish.
"Eating meat means prosperity in the coming year," the Shanghai Starbucks Reserve Roastery wrote on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.
According to the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art,the 15-day-long celebration, also known as the Spring Festival in China, marks the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year on the lunisolar calendar.
