Mirror image: Shelter dog with one ear tears one off his favorite stuffed toy to match him

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WPDE) — Dolls promoting inclusiveness, whether for ethnicities or abilities, have grown popular in recent years, but what happened in a North Carolina animal shelter may have been unimaginable.

A dog with one ear became viral on social media after he tore off an ear from his favorite stuffed toy to match him.

It wasn't just any ear, but thesame ear he's missing, and he's going to have better dog days ahead.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Wake County shared photos of Bruno after a worker noticed what he'd done.

The staff member who found this couldn’t believe it, so she took these photos to show the rest of our team," the SPCA's Facebook post said.

The shelter said Bruno used to live chained up outside, and his ear was torn off when another dog attacked him and he couldn't run away.

But Bruno knows there’s nothing wrong with him," the post continued, "and now he has a best friend just like him to prove it.

It only took three days for Bruno to reach a bigger goal.

The shelter shared a photo of him with his new dad and a video of him leaving with that favorite stuffed pal.

Bruno's adopter loves him just the way he is and promised to show Bruno nothing but unconditional love for the rest of his life," the post said.
