Starbucks unveils Strato Frappuccinos, celebrating 30 years of the blended beverage

Starbucks has announced new Strato Frappuccinos this summer.

This drink will combine their creamy cold foam with other signature flavors.

The three new Strato beverages include:

• Salted Caramel Mocha Strato Frappuccino Blended Beverage
• Strawberry Matcha Strato Frappuccino Blended Beverage
• Brown Sugar Strato Frappuccino Blended Beverage

The blended drinks come from a name inspired by the Italian word strato, which means layered.

It’s the perfect time for a beverage like this,” says Susan Engdahl who is part of the team at Starbucks who helped create the beverage. “Customers know and love the Frappuccino blended beverage drink, and this gives them a new way to enjoy it. As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Frappuccino, we’re excited to offer a modern take on a classic beverage, with layers of flavor and creamy texture that customers are craving right now.

These beverages are also one of the first to be tested through Starting 5, which is "a new program in which five coffeehouses test new menu items before they roll out nationally," according to a release from Starbucks.

The Strato Frappuccinos are available now.
