SEATTLE (KOMO) — Seattle police arrested a 53-year-old man Wednesday who was in possession of various drugs as well as "presumably" stolen comic books and basketball cards.
As officers were cruising the Georgetown neighborhood, they spotted a Hyundai Elantra that appeared to be stolen and was parked nearby.
Officers then began investigating and found a 53-year-old man sitting in the driver's seat, according to police.
The man told officers he borrowed the car from a friend two months ago, but the car had been reported stolen less than 24 hours earlier, according to Seattle police.
Officers then searched the car and found cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl, police said. They also found "presumably stolen" basketball cards and comic books, including a graded and signed copy of Classic X-Men #1.
Police arrested the man and booked him into the King County jail for investigation of possession of narcotics with the intent to sell and possession of a stolen vehicle.
"If you know who may own the comic books, please reach out to police and reference case number 2024-294745," wrote Seattle police.
